Press Release for Blithewold
Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum
Blithewold applauds Staff
Arborist, Chris Rooney
~~~
Blithewold Mansion, Gardens &
Arboretum in Bristol, Rhode Island, is proud to announce
that Staff Arborist, Christopher Rooney of Warwick, RI,
was recently awarded the International Society of Arboriculture
Professional Certification which recognizes advanced knowledge,
skill and expertise in the field of tree care. Already a
Rhode Island State Licensed Arborist, Rooney, who has been
Staff Arborist at Blithewold since April of 1998, decided
to further his professional accomplishments by studying
for and sitting the rigorous four-hour examination administered
through the local Chapter of the ISA. The exam was scheduled
in March. Rooney is now one of only 28 arborists in Rhode
Island to hold such a certification.
The International Society of Arboriculture,
based in Champaign, Illinois, is a scientific and educational
organization devoted to the dissemination of information
on the care and preservation of shade and ornamental trees.
The ISA Certification Program promotes
the professional development of those involved in the field
of arboriculture and tree care. The program’s goal
is to improve the level of knowledge and standard of practice
within the tree care profession. This Certification makes
it easier for the public to identify those individuals who
have demonstrated a thorough knowledge of tree care practices.
Rooney is gratified by the professional recognition of his
skill and knowledge in arboriculture. Blithewold is equally
gratified to know that the trees and grounds of the 33-acre
Arboretum greatly benefit from Rooney’s now internationally
recognized knowledge and skill.
